Engine speed / RPM Color bar - paulodospassos - 19.03.2022

Hi, can someone explain me what does this color means (see images)? Sometimes it shows, sometimes not.
PS- I’m having problems with my BMW E53 at starting, sometimes takes long time cranking start, and when it happens, it run rough with low power.

Thank you for your help and congrats for the builders of this app

Hi, this is just some warning is engine was "cold" and engine speed was more than the set limit in on-board computer settings.

Engine was the 3.0l Diesel? There are several issues for bad start. Please check http://www.dieselbibel.de (using a translator) to find the issue and read error codes!

Hi Andre, thank you for your reply.
My X5 is a 3.0i, getting erros on Camshaft Position Sensor, my guess was that i-bus was telling me something more with that red indicator but fortunately not.

Again in i-bus app, in all versions I’ve installed, I’m getting bad reading on the power (hp), don’t know if there’s a way to solve it but most of the time it’s random values, sometimes, rarely, it’s gets it right, is it something in the preferences?

Again, thank you for this great app, really enjoying it.

Best regards.

Well, we only calc wheel(!!!) power by GPS, engine speed and set user parameters (car weight, etc.). But we only geht engine speed every 2s in 100 1/min steps - so accuracy of this "toy" was bad. Do not see it as a gauge ;-)

Thank you Andre!

Hallo zusammen,

Hi, I have this question also about this, but because I think I’m getting random cold / warm on engine temp, sometimes it only goes warm, even before a long trip, if I reboot. And also, does it take this information by the oil temperature? Guess mine is reading bad, my oil temp is always between 41 and 42°.
Thank you in advance.

After "reboot"/restart the app we got the coolant as base but timer will start from the beginning - so this may be kind of weird then ;-)
For oiltemp: you sensor in oil sump (thermical oil niveau sensor) was either defect or selected wrong LCM as source - or both ;-)

RE: Engine speed / RPM Color bar - paulodospassos - 20.12.2024

Thank you Andre.
Weird indeed, if it’s the coolant that triggers cold / warm it doesn’t happen, sometimes, most of the times, the coolant gets to operating temperature and I-bus keeps telling me that the car is cold.
Well, have to figure out what’s wrong with the oil sensor.

Than you

Andre
