I-Bus App issues with A007 radio - Tofu - 31.12.2025
Hi,i have a e39 with factory dsp and an aftermarket chinesium radio model A007 (the radio was in the car when i bought it).I have the module plus license and im in need of your help:
1-my dsp amp turns on on ignition even when resler and the HU are disconnected.When i turn the car on i get blasted by loud music because my volume in the radio is set to 20 and i have to manually go to ibus app and start dsp there again so it drops to the desired starting level of 14.I need the app to start the dsp by itself and for it to do that it has to restart every time i boot the device but here is the catch-the device goes to deep sleep and there is no way to set it to turn off when ignition off,there are no options for that in this mcu factory settings.The app even when left on and with all the sliders for stopping when ignition,autostart etc will just not restart the dsp when i turn the car on i have to go to open apps,select the ibus app and press the dsp button to reset it so it gets quiet.Is there a way out of this situation so i can just turn the key and the app will start even when "open" and reboot the dsp so i wont have to do any manual adjustments each time i get into the car? Perfect situation would be AMP doesnt wake on ignition and only is turned on by ibus app but then i have to find a way to wake up the ibus app properly so it starts the dsp without me pressing the buttons
2-steering wheel buttons were disconnected on the canbox but even when i turn off the buttons in the ibus app i can still control sound and change tracks from the steering wheel.When i turn the buttons on in the app-same but when i turn the PX5/PX6 device slider suddenly i see the messages from ibus app when changing dsp sound etc but when i try to change the track with buttons the music just pauses for a second and plays again.Its weird because it worked perfectly for a day.Can box is still connected except for the wires for the steering wheel but could it be the problem? I dont know how to remove it because it turns on my HU.Is there a way to remove this thing completelly?
3-the tracks are not visible on IKE even when on in the ibus app.IKE shows IBUS APP message when starting the app so can it also be the can box? This is not a priority issue though im good without this function

thanks for your feedback.
First "A007" was no type of head unit - so no idea what it was like. Sorry.
1) DSP start: some how the head unit itself was able to start DSP amp somehow. Solution from most units I am aware of was to enter "CAN settings" (often in factory settings) and find a setting like "amplifier" and set it to "no amp" - this way the head unit shall stop starting DSP amp so there is no discothek when starting the car. Sound will only comes up after start of I-BUS app. For this maybe a launcher was needed with and "auto start" option where you may add I-BUS app - e.g. https://idrive.ibus-app.de - and set this as "standard launcher".
2) SWC: the best way for an "unknown head unit" was to keep SWC vis CAN bx, not via I-BUS app. So at best disable SWC in I-BUS app and go back using your can box - be sure "CAN settings" fit to your car - regular it was like "BMW E46" - equal if it was an E38/E39/E46/E53/E83.
3) IKE infos - there are no infos from radio app, music app, youtube, spotify, etc pp ? Even if you enable "sharing info" (needed in spotify e.g. ) and "media listener was enabled in I-BUS app general settings!?
